Stimulus

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed H.R. 1 the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This bill appropriated $787,200,000,000 for the Federal Government to spend on a variety of programs with the hope that it would stimulate growth in the economy. Perhaps the most important piece of information about HR 1 is here. The largest individual spending bill in US history - passed before any member of Congress read it. Such an enormous amount of money specifically intended to be spent very quickly provides an opportunity for fraud and waste without precedent in scope.

The House Republican Conference is committed to providing US citizens the tools that they need to monitor the spending of their childrens' and grandchildrens' money so that waste, fraud and abuse can be prevented and punished. To further this goal, we've created a searchable database for citizens to peruse the various projects in their community and nationwide.
